Multi-image browsing, folder comparison, and pinning

Use multi-image browsing to shortlist a batch, dual-folder comparison to review two sets, diff or overlay to locate changes, and pinning to keep a reference visible while you work.

Prepare these basics

Prepare the images

Keep the images you want to review in an easy-to-find folder. For a two-batch review, prepare two separate folders.

Allow folder access

When prompted, allow PicPeek to access only the folder you selected.

Choose the task

Decide whether you need browsing, shortlisting, folder review, detailed comparison, or a pinned reference.

Four core workflows

Four core workflows

Multi-image browsing: see more at once

Useful for shortlisting AI renders, design options, screenshots, or assets without repeatedly opening and closing windows.

How to use it: Open images or a folder, switch to the free-compare view, and place the candidates in one workspace. Shortlist broadly first, then zoom into individual images.

Dual-folder comparison: review two folders

Useful for checking different export versions, old versus new assets, or two delivery batches.

How to use it: Open dual-folder comparison and select one folder for each side. Review matching files while using synchronized zoom and pan for detail checks.

Overlay and diff: locate detail changes

Useful for identifying color, retouching, layout, or version changes between two images.

How to use it: Switch between side-by-side, diff, and overlay views. Use diff to locate changed regions and overlay to check positional shifts.

Pinned reference: keep a reference visible

Useful while designing, writing, developing, or checking another application against a reference.

How to use it: Open the target image and pin it above other windows. Adjust its position, size, and opacity for the current workspace.

PicPeek is a local-first image workspace: images are processed on your device and never uploaded.

Expected result

The selected workflow should stay in one workspace

Multi-image browsing shows the candidate set together; dual-folder comparison pairs files from both folders; diff or overlay can be switched on demand; a pinned image stays visible above the work window.
